The Oscar Mike Foundation
At Blackfinn, we always look for ways to be involved in the community and find organizations that match our own culture and values. The Oscar Mike Foundation is one of the great organizations that we’ve had an opportunity to work with recently.
The term “Oscar Mike” comes from military radio jargon used on the front lines and translates to “On the Move.” The term also is the inspiration for the veteran-run Oscar Mike Foundation – to provide veterans with an opportunity to live and embrace “Oscar Mike” in all aspects of their life.
On Saturday, the Ameripub in River North Chicago hosted one of its weekly “We Are Chicago” events, a community series that features a different theme/cause every Saturday night. This time, the event featured veterans from multiple military branches as guest-bartenders to raise funds for the Foundation’s great missions.
The event was a great success and raised a total of $1,781 for the Oscar Mike Foundation. All funds raised will be used to assist and promote injured veterans to stay “On the Move”.
“We want to thank Blackfinn Ameripub for hosting this event, supporting our nation’s veterans and overall the mission of the Oscar Mike Foundation,” said Tim Waterman, CMO at Oscar Mike. “It’s events like this, along with donations, that are the lifeblood of our Foundation.”
We feel so fortunate to be able to support organizations like Tim’s and we encourage you to share with us any time you have an organization that you feel passionate about and think can be a great partner for us. Shoot us a note at Community@BlackfinnAmeripub.com.
